Cuba

I have had the pleasure of traveling to Cuba twice! This has been my favorite destination so far. It is full of rich history & the citizens are extremely welcoming. If you ever get the opportunity to visit, please do so!

Taxis are the main form of transportation in Cuba. This is what we did for our entire trip (make sure its in a classic car) ! or walking. Restaurants are very local in La Habana Vieja. Also ask how much taxis will charge to get you to your location BEFORE you get into the vehicle!

  • Cuba offers various hotel stays, but the two times I have visited, I have done Airbnb stays, because of the comfort and welcoming feeling from hosts.

I stayed at Casa Habana Castro via Airbnb. Located in the middle of La Habana Vieja. Quiet neighborhood & friendly hosts. Our Airbnb Host assisted with transportation from airport to Airbnb** Total was $229 for 4 nights & 5 days.

  • My top must sees:

Varadero Beach: Beautiful clear blue water and very quiet beach. We took a taxi that accommodated our group. About a 2 hour drive from our stay. We left at 8am and spent the entire day there. *I recommend to pack snacks & drinks! A few places to eat around the area.

Pinar del Rio: Small city in Cuba with beautiful scenic views. Our taxi drove us a lovely view & from there drove us to a hillside for horseback riding & cigar rolling!

La Guarida Restaurant: Famous for its staircase and Fidel Castro Revolutionary statement on wall, this place is a must! Please note to make reservations ahead of time. Beautiful scenic views of Havana, great mojitos, and music.

Fabrica de Arte Cubana: This is an art gallery with dj and full stocked bar. Definitely a great time for a night out. Music was excellent and art gala was wonderful to see.
